Planning this trip, I always heard about India’s massive amounts of trash.
Sure enough…there’s lots. It’s common Indian practice to care little about public spaces and chuck wrappers, paper, and whatever else out the window or door. Graffiti is pretty common, too…regardless of the place.
I have to admit, for someone who grew up in the 80s with 3-2-1 Contact and Reading Rainbow constantly reminding me to take care of the planet, it’s a bit horrifying.
However, the worst part of seeing it all is walking around North India and seeing the foreigners join in on it. How do I know its foreigners? Well, the water bottles lying here (photo above) are only given to those paying the hefty foreigners’ price at the Taj Mahal. And, well, I have yet to meet any Indians named Sean or William.
I could really use some old school PBS here, peeps.

that’s horrible that they really don’t have any respect for their country. but seriously, the taj mahal looks gorgeous. great photo.
I know…it’s really crazy. I mean, I know littering happens everywhere. But usually if it happens in the US, you’ll see people give the litterbug a nasty look and/or pick up after him/her.
But, yeah…the Taj was gorgeous. I figured I should at least end the post on a happy/pretty note! Hehehe
Puke. I wish visitors would be a little more respectful, too. But great photos! And I love the one of you on a camel, too. How exciting!
